Sumilon Island
The refreshing whip of the wind; The scorching heat of the
sun; The panoramic view of Cebu and Dumaguete; The different colors of green of
the mountainous islands, and The different shades of blue of the ocean which you
can see from afar. That’s how beautiful of an island Sumilon is for me so far
yet.
There are TWO
ways for you to get there:
First, if you want to experience an exclusive/private
service(s), you can go and avail of Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort’s packages.
But a bit painful in the pocket, if I may say. They charge Php1500 per person
during weekdays and Php2000 during weekends. Not sure what their packages are.
Last, you can rent a pumpboat in Tanawan, Cebu and bring you
there. You might be surprised how budget friendly it would be.
Here’s the breakdown of our expenses:
Php1500 – Pumpboat (back and forth) – GOOD FOR 5 PERSONS AND BELOW. But it can be negotiated
to remain at Php 1500 if your group is more than 5. (As we
asked)
Php500 – Food and drinks (well, we
were and are always hungry.. hahah) but you can budget it.
Potluck if you
want.
There are food
stores/restaurants there where you can eat in. you can budget maybe
Php500 or more
as a group.
We used a motorcycle for land transpo going
to Tanawan, Cebu where the pumpboats
are situated
Php345 - Motorcycle and Passenger
rate, respectively(Back and Forth and good for two already)
